Cosmic Rays Impact Mega Fires

What's going on? Ironically, the radiation drop is caused by increasing solar activity. Solar Cycle 25 has roared to life faster than forecasters expected. The sun's strengthening and increasingly tangled magnetic field repels cosmic rays from deep space. In addition, solar coronal mass ejections (CMEs) sweep aside cosmic rays, causing sharp reductions called "Forbush Decreases." The two effects blend together to bring daily radiation levels down.

Shumann Resonances

Physicist Winfried Schumann  recognized that the space between the solid (conducting) Earth’s surface and the hot, rarefied (conducting) ionosphere some ~100 kilometers up would behave like a cavity capable of reflecting electromagnetic waves. He realized that the electric currents created by lightning strikes would be able to naturally excite this cavity and create resonances causing lightening, wildfires, and earthquakes.

Lightning Ignited Wildfires

"Investigating the role of climate change associated to the risk of
lightning-ignited wildfires in northern boreal forests is essential, as
wildfires in permafrost soils can contribute to a significant release of
organic carbon to the atmosphere." Journal of Nature Communications 2023
